The death of Kimberly Dawn Bird, of Amherst, occurred suddenly in her home on the morning of her 52nd birthday on October 22, 2012.  Born in Sackville, NB, Kim was a daughter of the late Winston and Alice (Tingley) Fury.


 A devoted wife and mother, Kim adored her children and grandchildren who loved and will miss her greatly.  She loved to tell jokes was a wonderful and generous cook, giving away most of what she baked to those in need. She was always putting others before herself.

Kim leaves behind her husband of thirty-two years, Terry Bird of Amherst; two children, Michael (Wanda) of Amherst and Katie (Tim) of Springhill; three grandchildren, Ashley, Kayley and Emily; five sisters, Susan (Duane) Pauley, Heather Robichaud, Vera (Mark) Strathearn, Gail (Donald) Coates, and Doris Jones; six brothers, Kenneth (Sunday) Fury, Brian (Sandra) Fury, Donnie Fury, George (Donna) Fury, Winston (Marion) Fury, and Ronald Fury; a sister-in-law, Linda Fury and three brothers-in-law, Jim (Dena) Bird, Wendell Stiles and Robert Acton and mother and father-in-law, Joan and Sterling Bird as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Kim was predeceased by two sisters, Marilyn Stiles and Alma Acton; two brothers, David and Keith Fury; brother in law, Richard Jones and a sister in law, Florence Fury.


Arrangements for Kim are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, (364-1300) from where visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2012.  A funeral service for Kim will be held at the funeral home at 2 pm on Wednesday, October 24 with a burial to follow in the Point de Bute Cemetery.  Pastor Hal Lowther officiating.
