The death of Robert "Bud" Doncaster, 76, occurred suddenly
at the Moncton City Hospital on Friday, February 29, 2008. Born in
Sackville, he was the son of the late Frederick and Pauline (Lawrence)
Doncaster.
An active community member, Bud was a life-long farmer known especially for his Antique Farm Field Day open to everyone during the Sackville Fall Fair. He loved restoring and showing antique farm machinery.
Bud was a member of the Main Street Baptist Church.
Bud will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Florence (Wheaton); three sons, Daniel (Ann) of Sackville and Brian (Marlene), both of Sackville, Frederick (Kelli) of Grand Bay-Westfield; four daughters, Debbie (Malcolm) Fisher and Angela (Gordon) Carlisle, both of Sackville, Kimberly (Stephen) Bowes of Shediac, and Krista (Brad) Schmidt of Maple Ridge, BC; two brothers, Donald (Janet) of TN and Bliss (Edith) of Sackville; three sisters, Anna Mason of Louisiana, Joyce Wakefield, ON, Amy Weaver, IL; nineteen grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
Besides his parents, Bud was predeceased by a brother, and by three brothers-in-law.
Bud's remains have been entrusted into the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Friends wishing to pay their respects, may do so at the funeral home on Sunday, March 2, 2008, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held Monday, March 3, 2008 at 2pm from the Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville. Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating. Interment will be at the Four Corners Cemetery in the spring.
Donations in Bud's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Main Street Baptist Church.
