Janie Richards, age 91, of Bayfield, passed away at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, on Wednesday, May 9, 2007.

Born in Murray Harbour, PEI, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Amelia (Hooper) Jordan.

Janie was a very loving person. She was a dedicated member of the Bayfield United Church and a UCW member.

She will be sadly missed by her 2 daughters, Henrietta (Lawrence) Nicholson, Riverview and Charlene (Brian) Trenholm, Cape Spear; a son Stephen (Alma), Cape Tormentine, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Norman Dobson in 1949, her second husband, Milton Richards in 1984, and a daughter Janice in 1965. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 3 West Main St., (538-2241) Port Elgin, NB. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will take place at the Bayfield United Church, Saturday, May 11, 2007 at 2 pm, Rev. James Shaffner officiating. Burial will follow in the Bayfield Cemetery.
