It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved brother, Lester James Chapman of Dorchester, NB, on June 21, 2026 at the Moncton Hospital.

Born February 21, 1948, he was the son of Hibbert and Gladys (Turner) Chapman.

Lester grew up in Middle Sackville, NB.  He moved to Ontario, living and working there for many years before returning to Sackville.  He lived with his dear brother Ronald and his wife Debbie (Morice) Chapman for many years before moving to Dorchester.  Lester worked many years for Clarence Estabrooks at the farm in Middle Sackville before retirement and his Parkinson's diagnosis.

Lester loved horses, fast cars, his Tim Horton's coffee and little friend, Teacup.

Besides his parents, Hibbert and Gladys (Turner) Chapman, Lester was predeceased by his sisters, Phyllis Ward, Bertie O'Blenis, Dianne Chapman Allen and Doris Sterling; brothers, Roderick Chapman, Hedley Chapman, Ronald Chapman, and Harris Chapman, as well as his nieces and nephews Grace Pye, Faye Chapman, Fred Sterling and Peggy Sears, and his great niece, Shauna Wilson and great nephew Chase Landry.

Lester will be dearly missed by his sisters, Shirley Hoare and Oressa Sterling, as well as many nieces and nephews and good friends.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Dorchester Fire and Rescue, the paramedics with Ambulance NB and the staff of the Moncton Hospital for their professionalism, compassion and care for Lester.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  A graveside service will be held at the Four Corners Cemetery on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at 1 pm.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
