It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Mary Rowena Goodwin, age 94, of Baie Verte, NB.  Mary passed away peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home on Sunday, May 31, 2026.

Born in Baie Verte, NB, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Celestia (Trenholm) Read.

Mary enjoyed quilting and knitting mittens, attending Bluegrass events and spending times at the cottage with her sisters. She was very active with the Baie Verte Seniors, the Baie Verte United Church and in the UCW.

Mary will be deeply missed by her daughters Janice (Ron), Peggy (Thomas), Kim (Robert), all of Baie Verte NB; daughter in law Elizabeth Goodwin; sons Leonard (Marilyn), Stephen (Anne), both of Baie Verte; brother Brenton (Faye); 18 Grandchildren; 35 Great Grandchildren; and three Great Great Grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Roger; a son Douglas; two great grandchildren Maeve and Baby Kate; sisters Irene Simpson, Margaret Hamilton and Mildred Blair; brothers Arthur, Ruben, Harvey and Vaughn.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin and Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  Visiting hours will be held from their Port Elgin location on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 6 to 8 pm.  Her funeral service will he held from the Baie Verte United Church on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 2 PM, Wayne Jarvis, DLM, officiating
