It is with deep sadness that we announce
the passing of Vernon Edward Allen on May
30, 2026, at the age of 60. Vernon was a devoted husband, father, son,
businessman, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose generosity,
humor, and hardworking nature touched many lives.
Born on May 10, 1966, Vernon was the
beloved son of Grace Allen and Donald (Jean Lewis) Allen.He grew up in
Sackville, New Brunswick, surrounded by family, with many shared
adventures with cousins and friends.
For 33 years, Vernon shared a loving
marriage with his wife, Jocelyn. Together they built a life centered
on family, commitment, and unwavering support. He was a proud father
to Jessica and Nicole (Anthony), who were among his greatest
joys.
A respected entrepreneur, Vernon
co-founded AL-PACK alongside his business partner, fully committing to
the venture in 1996. In 2014, he continued his entrepreneurial journey
by purchasing Xtreme Powder Coatings. Throughout his career, he earned
the respect of employees, customers, and colleagues through his strong
work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Vernon was happiest spending time with
family and friends. He loved telling stories, playing cards, fishing,
clam digging, hunting, and golfing. He also appreciated life's simple
pleasures, including a comfortable Hawaiian shirt and a well-earned
nap with a beloved pet.
Vernon will be lovingly remembered by
his wife, Jocelyn; his daughters, Jessica Allen and Nicole (Anthony)
Bonspille; his siblings, Dan (Rina) Allen, James (Tammy) Allen, David
(Sheila) Lewis, and Brenda (Luis) Moreno; his special cousin and soul
sister Patti (Dale) Sears; in laws Iona Crosthwaite, Darlene (Rodney)
Turner, Douglas (Jennifer) Crosthwaite; and many extended family
members and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother Grace
Allen, father Donald Allen, stepmother Jean Lewis, and father-in-law
Douglas Crosthwaite.
Those who knew Vern best will remember
his loyalty, generosity, humor, and gift for storytelling. His legacy
lives on through the family he cherished, the businesses he built, and
the memories shared with those who loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever
remembered.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). Visitation will be held on
Sunday, June 7, 2026 from 6:00pm-8:00pm, and a Celebration of Life
will take place on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 2:00pm with Rev. Mark
Reece presiding. In keeping with Vernon’s wishes, guests
attending the Celebration of Life can join the family in wearing
bright colours or their favourite Hawaiian shirt. For those unable to
attend, the service will be streamed by visiting his obituary on the
funeral home website. Burial will follow in the Sackville
Cemetery, with a reception afterward at the funeral
home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada or the IWK Health
Centre.
