Brian Mark Fury, aged 57, of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital.
Born in 1968, in Moncton, New Brunswick, on his Uncle Brian’s birthday, Mark was the beloved son of Linda (Etter) Fury and the late Keith Fury.
Mark’s favorite topic was Cameron, followed closely by music and sports. He was a proud, lifelong Bruins fan. According to Cara, he was full of "useless facts." He cherished his time at Cadman’s Corner, his happy place, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, mowing the lawn on his ride-on tractor, and teasing his sister, Lisa.
Known as Marty to many close family and friends, he had a lifelong love of animals and shared his home with many pets over the years. Always confusing to Cara, he preferred to drive with the low fuel light on. Mark was known for his love of a good bargain. He took particular delight in ‘pink tag’ finds and never hesitated to bring home discounted dented cans.
Mark faced a long six and a half year battle with cancer with remarkable strength and determination. He endured the challenges of treatment with grace, navigating the emotional and physical toll with resilience. Even when no options seemed left, another was somehow found. His stubborn determination proved to be one of his greatest strengths.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, Cara; son, Cameron; mother, Linda; brother, Michael (Jon Villocero); sister, Lisa (Peter Allen); brother/cousin, Stevie "O’Fury"; sisters-in-law, Angie, Mindy (Brett), and Lacey (Adrian); brother-in-law, Dustin (Angie); Cameron’s mother, Diane; Parents-in-law, Pierette and Evan; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was a proud and loving uncle to Mackenzie, Thomas, Grace, Dylan, Hailey, Graison, Antonia, Quin, Peyton, Dacre, Zyra, Avery, Tell, Grant, Wesley, Maevis, and Aubrey. He was a devoted "cat dad" to Lynk.
The greatest joy and proudest surprise of his life was his son, Cameron. In Cameron’s words, "He taught me how to be a good man. He led by example, not by words".
Mark formed loyal, lifelong friendships and will be fondly remembered by his many cousins, the Harrisville boys, and his former woods crew. He always looked forward to the yearly hockey pool, which has been going strong since 1995.
He was predeceased by his infant brother, Keith William ("Chip"), as well as his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Mark’s family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mahmoud Abdelsalam and the Oncology Clinic team at the Moncton Hospital for their exceptional care over the years. Special thanks to Pam Fury, who was not even Mark’s oncology nurse, for providing unwavering support to Cara. We will be forever thankful to the staff at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for their extra special care. The VON team’s support during his time at home was deeply appreciated. Finally, sincere gratitude to Martha Ferguson for her guidance and care during the comfort phase of Mark’s journey.
Arrangements are under the care of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville and Port Elgin, NB, 506-364-1300. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place on May 9 at 2:00 PM at Saint Mark’s Anglican Cemetery in Mount Whatley, New Brunswick, reception to follow at St. Mark’s Hall. Casual dress is requested; guests are encouraged to wear their favorite sports jerseys or Boston Bruins colors.
