** UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION **

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of James "Jim" Leonard Murray, age 84, of Timber River, NB.  Jim passed away with his daughters by his side at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Born on Davis Road, he was a son of the late Bert and Lucie (Scott) Murray.

Jim was a proud Iron Worker Local 842 for many years.  He was a Lobster Fisherman, fishing out of Amos Point and Port Elgin.  He loved animals, having many dogs and cats over the years.  A great story teller, he always had a good story and a good joke.

He will be dearly missed by his daughters Mary Jo Murray, Moncton, and Melanie Murray (Kevin Hutton), Denman Island, BC; 8 grandchildren, Alexis, Teegan, Olin, Casey, Jamieson, Adelaide, Charlie, and Carly; sister Wilna (Don) Peers, Bobcaygeon, ON; as well as most recent cat Houston and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by infant brother.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Homes, Sackville and Port Elgin.  A time of visitation will take place from their Port Elgin location, 3 West Main Street, on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 2 to 3 pm, followed immediately by his funeral service at 3 pm.  Interment will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00pm.

Jim's family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Gary and Darla Scott, Daryl "Bubba" Alder, and the staff at the Moncton Hospital.

Donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Port Elgin Regional School or a charity of one's choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook page.
