It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Rodney James Andrus, 88, of
Petit-Cap, NB and formerly of Oshawa, ON, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024
at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton. Rodney was
born in Toronto a son of the late Dorothy (Rowe) and Algernon
Andrus.
Rodney had worked as a letter carrier
for Canada Post for 25 years. He was an avid treasure hunter
with his metal detector and will fondly be remembered as "Uncle
Eight-Ball" by his nephews and nieces.
He will be dearly missed by two sons,
Wayne (Marilyn) Andrus, Shemogue, NB and Larry (Theresa) Andrus,
Oshawa, ON; his grandchildren, Danielle, Andrea, Matthew, Sarah, Joe,
Trevor and Sean; two great grandchildren, Evangeline and Adelaide as
well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Rodney was
predeceased by his wife, Maryanne (Merriman) and his sister,
Doreen
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300). Honouring Rodney's wishes,
cremation has taken place and there are to be no services at this
time.
