EMMA INEVA BULMER (Mitton)

 September 9, 1931 - August 19, 2024

Emma Bulmer passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the Sackville Memorial Hospital.  Born at home in Dorchester Cape, New Brunswick, on September 9, 1931, she was the daughter of Helen Julia and Cecil Minard Mitton.

Emma was an active member of the Dorchester Baptist Church, serving in many capacities over the years.  As a graduate of St. Joseph's College, she began her career at the Registry Office in Dorchester.  Emma worked with several other local employers, including Atlantic Industries and the Drew Nursing Home.

Emma was the epitome of a strong and hard working woman. She always had something on the go whether it was baking, quilting, knitting, gardening, or making preserves. Known as a generous person, Emma often helped those in her community in any way she could.  She mastered the computer including genealogy applications at an advanced age. Over the years she enjoyed numerous card games, darts, many day trips and trips to the US and the Carribean.  Above all, she was family oriented and adored her children, grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren which include; Molly, Sawyer and Willow Graves, and recent addition, Zev Bulmer.

Her enduring faith guided her through many of life's challenges, including the loss of her husband at a young age.  Emma managed to provide for, and guide, three children as a young widowed mother.  She encouraged her family members to remain strong through all of life’s hardships, and to live their lives to the fullest.

Emma is survived by her daughter Charlene (David Methot) of Dorchester, son Kevin Bulmer (Joan), Nauwigewauk, NB, granddaughter Alison Bulmer (Kyle Graves), Hampton, grandson Luke Bulmer (Natalie Gallant), Moncton, and sister Alice Siddall.

Emma was predeceased by her husband, George Vernon Bulmer, in 1974, son Peter Bulmer, granddaughter Laura Bulmer, brother Lloyd, and sisters Audrey and Pearl.

Arrangements are under the care of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, (506-364-1300) from where visitation will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2024 from 1PM until 3 PM, followed immediately at 3 PM with her funeral service, Pastor Scott Balser officiating.  Burial will follow in the Dorchester Rural Cemetery.

The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Andrea Wall and the staff of the Sackville Memorial Hospital for the care they provided.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dorchester Rural Cemetery or the charity of one's choice.
