It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Irene Bourque (Bourgeois) of Murray Corner, and formerly of Sackville, NB, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on August 15, 2024 .   She was 72.

Irene loved life to the fullest.  She always had a smile and greeted anyone with kindness and respect.  Her laugh was infectious.  

Irene met the love of her life, George Bourque while attending High School in Sackville.  Since then they have enjoyed 58 years together including 48 years married.

She was predeceased by her father and mother, Alain and Alva (Arsenault) Bourgeois and her son, Matthew. 

Irene will be dearly missed by her husband, George; her sons Marc (Kathy) and Brett (Marie-Eve); her sister Dianne (Dave); her brothers, Danny, David (Starlene); sister-in-law Marina;  brothers-in-law Gerard, Bernard (Sandra), and Paul (Claudette), as well as her grandchildren, Mars Linn and Emma.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB.  A time of visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 from 9:30 am to 11:30 am prior to proceeding to Saint Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, for a funeral Mass at 12 pm.  Interment to follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Irene may be made to the St. Vincent Roman Catholic Church or the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
