Bruce Rae Blacklock, known as Rae, was born on May 28, 1931, in Little Shemogue, NB, Canada. He passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, in Moncton, NB, surrounded by his family. Rae will be remembered as a kind, generous, and adventurous spirit who brought joy to everyone he met.

Rae lived a remarkable life, he loved to travel, his career began in Frobisher bay now known as Iqaluit and later he spent a notable period in Vietnam before the war. As an accomplished business owner and entrepreneur, he achieved great success, but his greatest pride was his family. They were the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Rae’s love for his family extended to his summers spent at the family cottage in Murray Corner, a place of many treasured memories for the whole extended family and many, many visitors over the decades.

He was predeceased by his father Bruce Ewen Blacklock, mother Kathleen Marion Blacklock, brother Robert Blacklock (Catherine), and sister Marion Vijh (Ray)

He is survived by his family, Connie (Robinson) Blacklock; his children, Christopher Blacklock, Carolyn Connors (Jeff) and his beloved grandchildren, Lilia and Sawyer; his brother Thomas Blacklock (Edith) of Pointe Claire QC as well as several nieces and nephews, and an extended family too numerous to name, all of whom he held dear.

Rae will be fondly remembered for his authenticity, sense of fun, and the wisdom, warmth and kindness he shared with family and friends. He was a true gentleman, his legacy of love and joy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

Rae’s presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Homes, Port Elgin and Sackvile NB.  A graveside ceremony will be held at the Fernwood Cemetery, Burnside Road, Port Elgin, New Brunswick, Canada, on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM, followed by a reception at Jones Funeral Home’s Port Elgin location, 3 W Main St, Port Elgin, NB.
