It is with sadness that we announce the
peaceful passing of Elisabeth Maaike
Ebbett, 97, of Charlottetown and formerly of Sackville,
N.B., at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown on Tuesday,
January 30, 2024. Born in Waalwijk, Netherlands, Els was a
daughter of the late Bastiaan Cornelius and Maria (Verbeek)
Millenaar
She was a very talented artist and made
a strong and positive impression on everyone she met. She
had a special bond with the many cats and dogs in her life and they
all loved her right back. She also had a green thumb and
always surrounded herself with plants and beautiful
flowers.
She will be dearly missed by her sons
and daughters, Donald (Don) VanDyke (Brenda), High Prairie, AB, Maria
Gwendolyn (Gwen) (Bradd Burningham) Windsor, ON, Shelley Elisabeth
(Garry Wood), Charlottetown, PE, Earl David (Dave), Bear Lake, BC;
grandchildren, Maaike, Kerry, Kyle: great-grandchildren, Lucy, Leni,
Patricio, Luna, Theodore, Gavin. Besides her parents, she
was predeceased by her husband Claude VanDyke; her eldest son Wendell
Earl; her grandson, Padraic Jason (PJ); and her brothers Christopher
and Sjirk Millenaar.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70
Bridge Street, Sackville, NB. Honouring
Elisabeth’s wishes, there are to be no services at this
time. Interment has taken place at the Fairhaven Memorial
Gardens, Moncton.
Donations may be made in honour of
Elisabeth to your local animal shelter or to the Canadian Cancer
Society.
