It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my loving husband Jack (John) Richard Reade, age 72, on January 5, 2024 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst with his loving family by his side.

Jack was born to John and Wilma (Corbitt) Reade on April 14, 1951 in Cape Tormentine, NB.

Jack grew up and resided in Upper Cape before starting his career in the mining industry in Manitoba, but the call of home and family was always strong.  he moved home and worked at Marine Atlantic for many years after which he build and ran the Timber River Country Market until retirement.

Jack was a "Jack" of all trades, he built his own home and store.  You could always see Jack and Wanda in their buggy heading for a good game of cards, a toddy, and some gossip.  Jack loved to torment and poke fun at everyone, and it always ended in a great laugh.

Jack is survived by his loving wife and his best friend Wanda (Neily); son Kelly, Port Elgin; brothers Frank (Theresa), Irishtown, Bill (Arlene), Upper Cape, Steven (Patti), Upper Cape, Jeff (Chrissy), Moncton and Harold (Gayle) Fredriksen, Moncton; sisters Deborah (James) Rogerson, Halifax, Heather, Moncton, Cathy (Jimmy) Noonan, Timber River; brother in laws Wilco, John; sister in law Dianna.

He was predeceased by daughters Tina and Tammy; son Evan; brother Daryl; sister Holly.

Jack will be dearly missed by his family, his extended family; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Sackville and Port Elgin, NB (506-364-1300). In keeping with Jack's wishes, a graveside service will be held in the spring in the Fernwood Cemetery. There will be no visitation or funeral service.

Those wishing to make a donation in Jack's memory can do so to the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
