Our beautiful Mom, Margaret Clare passed away peacefully November 6, 2023 on a beautiful sunny day. She was 79 years old.

Born in Sackville, NB, Margaret was the daughter of Charles and Mellicent Barnes.

Mom made friends wherever she was. Genuinely kind and compassionate, she was always ready to chat with a pot of tea and a whipped up batch of biscuits. She was a devout Bingo player, looked forward to little trips to the casino, and would never turn down a good game of cards. Mom loved to entertain and offered nothing less than a feast from her kitchen with leftovers and a bottle of homemade jam to boot. She lived her life selflessly with grace, always smiling and ready to help.

Mom was beautiful and smart and would do anything for anybody. You could always count on her for advice, whether you had a question about a recipe or needed a helping hand, that was just who she was.

Mom loved being outside, especially in her garden. Over the last few years, she became an avid Monarch butterfly caretaker. She planted milkweed in her garden to attract them so she could watch their fascinating and beautiful transformation. Mom was generous and caring and would offer her comfort, support, and love to anyone in need, anytime.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Wesley Clare, brother Hartley Hicks, and first husband Frank Fullerton.

Margaret is survived by her loving children, Michael Fullerton (Pam), Mary ‘Buffy’ Fullerton (Steven), Martha Beaumont (Chris), Lesley Clare-Smith (Kirk), sister Joyce Throop, and sister-in-law Carol Hicks, several nieces and nephews, grandchildren Charles Sydney, Wesley and River, Camilla, Amy, Adam, and Wyatt, Charles Brett, Matthew, Alicia, and Jennifer, Lena, Evelyn, and Gwnyth, as well as several great-grandchildren and many extended family members who all held a special place in her heart.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  A graveside service will be held for Margaret at the Westcock Cemetery on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11 am, followed by a reception at St. Ann's Anglican Church Hall.  All are welcome to attend.

Margaret’s family would like to thank the Oncology and Palliative Care Departments at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their sincere compassion towards their patients.

In Margaret’s memory, donations to the Westcock Cemetery in Sackville NB would be appreciated.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Margaret's online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
