It is with sadness that we announce the passing of John Edward Whiteley, 75, of Moncton, at the Dr. Georges L Dumont Hospital on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.  Born in Moncton, John was a son of the late James and Margaret (Steeves) Whiteley.

John was a talented baker both professionally and personally. He enjoyed gardening, yardwork, and the occasional shopping trip to the States.  He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who looked forward to spending time with his family.  John was kind and giving, always willing to lend a hand.

John will be sadly missed by his wife of 54 years, Alice (nee Sears); two daughters, Kimberley (Dwayne) MacTavish, Texas, and Christa (Jonathan Morton) Stiles, Moncton; one son, Dannie (Mary-Jo) Thompson of Mount View, NB; eight grandchildren, Alexa, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Sutton, Jordyn, Easton, Dalton and Logan; two great grandchildren, Emma and Allison;  one sister, Edris (Borden) MacDonald; three brothers, Steven (Irene), Lorne (Doris), and Keith (Mary).

Arrangements are under the care of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  Honouring John's wishes, cremation has taken place and there is to be no visitation by request.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Donations in John's memory may be given to the Kidney foundation of Canada.
