It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Janice Aileen Anderson, 72, of Sackville.  Janice passed away at the Drew Nursing Home on Sunday, October 29, 2023.  Born in Halifax on June 23, 1951, she was a daughter of Vivian (nee Thorne) and the late Otto Weir.

Janice was an active member of Main Street Baptist Church, Sackville, teaching in Sunday School and participating in various events within the church.  She had been a local leader and District Commissioner with Girl Guides of Canada for many years and a Board Member for the Sackville Community Fund Association, including the Christmas Cheer Program.

Janice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She enjoyed traveling with her friends and spending quality time with her family.

She will forever be remembered for her smile and loving nature, her willingness to help anyone and everyone and her crazy skits.  She was her family's biggest cheerleader, supporting and helping them in any way she could. 

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Sam Anderson; three children, Jason Weir, Erin (Bradley) Allen, and Jillian Anderson; three grandchildren, Emma, Grace, and Rowen; her mother, Vivian Weir; her siblings, Donald (Loretta) Weir, Cathy (David) Lockhart, and David (Charlotte) Weir; special nephews, Mitchell and Benjamin, extended family and close friends.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300).  A time of public visitation will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 6-8 pm.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11 am.  Interment to follow in the Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.

Donations may be made to the Main Street Baptist Church, the Alzheimer Society or the Sackville Community Fund Association.
