It is with sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jay Allen Blair Edgett, 64, of Dorchester, on Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home.  Jay was born in Sackville, a son of Hazel (Allen) Edgett and the late Robert "Bob" Edgett.

Jay had been an automotive mechanic most of his life.  He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed hunting and the outdoors.  He was simple man with a great sense of humour.

Jay will be survived by his children, Shannon Edgett, Moncton and Ben (Amanda), Dorchester; four grandchildren who affectionately knew him as "Grampy Jay", Raine, Celeste, Claire, and Brooke; his mother, Hazel, Dorchester; three siblings, Danny (Sandy), AB, Lindy, BC, and Larry (Rochelle), Memramcook, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300).  Honouring Jay's wishes, cremation has taken place and there are to be no services at this time.

For those who wish to do so, donations in memory of Jay may be sent to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or a charity of the donor's choice.
