It is with sadness we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" Edward Watkin, age 78, of Sackville.  Rick passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital.

Born in London, ON, he was a son of the late James and Irene (Smith) Watkin.

Rick was involved in food service all his life, which took him to Newfoundland where he met his wife Mary.  He finished his work at the New Brunswick Liquor Commission in Sackville.  He and Mary attended St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church.

He will be sadly missed by daughters Michelle (Danny) Bulmer, Sackville, Carolann (Eric) Allen, Port Greville, NS; grandchildren Danielle Bulmer, Denise (Greg) Aubey, Garrett Allen (Liz Galick); great grandchildren; Ethan, Everett, Aryan, Michael, Matthew and Maddox;  brothers Robert, London, ON, Jack (Ellen), Mount Forest, ON, and Gordon (Daniel Watkin-Libinen), Toronto, ON; brother in law Glen Johnston, Fredericton, NB. sister in law Georgia Watkin, London, ON.

He was predeceased by his wife Mary Fleming Watkin; brother William; sister Marlene "Midge" Johnston and sister in law Helen Watkin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Monday from 6 to 8 pm, and again on Tuesday 9:30 AM until the departure to the church.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Vincent's Roman Catholic Church, Sackville, Father Carlos Jacinto officiating.  Burial will take place in Fair Haven Memorial Garden, Moncton.
