It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maureen Gladys Colfer, 84, of Moncton, and formerly of Baie Verte, NB, just four months following her husband's passing.  Maureen passed on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital in Moncton.  Born in England, Maureen was a daughter of the late Frederick and Emily Simpson.

Very family oriented, Maureen was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking and having dinners with her family.   She always loved having company and a full house.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter Lynn (Terry) Wall, and her son Kevin (Lisa) Colfer, all of Moncton; grandchildren Riley (Alex), Meghan, James, Lily, Christina and Kayla; great grandchildren, Wyatt, Abigail, and Lincoln, and her brother-in-law, Billy of Ireland.

Maureen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband James (Jim) in January of this year; a great granddaughter, Serena, and three siblings, Frederick, Patrick and Audrey.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of 4F at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital for their compassion and care over the years.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Homes, Port Elgin and Sackville, NB, (506-364-1300).  Visiting hours will be held at the Jones Funeral Home Port Elgin Chapel on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 1 until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by her funeral service. William Drysdale, DLM, officiating.  Burial will take place in the Baie Verte Cemetery at a later date.

Those wishing to make a donation in Maureen's memory may do so to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
