It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Daniel Cecil Alder, 59, of Sackville, often known as "Pole Cat".  Daniel passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at his home.

Born in Upper Cape, Daniel was a son of Audrey (Polley) Alder and the late Ernest Alder.

Daniel loved the outdoors.  You would often find him riding around on a tractor lawn mower or his scooter.  He loved fishing and teasing everyone any chance he got.  He was known for his backyard mechanic skills.  He enjoyed helping others, and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone out.

Danny loved his family, and will be greatly missed by his loving mother Audrey Alder, Upper Cape; 3 sons Catlin, Cass, and Derrick, all of PEI; 7 brothers, David (Margaret), Amherst,  Dale (Kathy), Dwight, Darrel, Douglas (Tracey), Donald, and Darren, all of Port Elgin; 3 sisters Darlene (Arthur) Kenny; Darla Alder (Kevin Wall) and Deanna (Lance) Legere, all of Port Elgin; a very special friend Gloria Throop, Sackville; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Danny was predeceased by his father and his nephew Chad.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin and Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral at this time.
