As our flicker of hope diminished, Glen Marcus MacKenzie passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Sackville, NB, he was a son of the late Charles and Verna (Gay) MacKenzie.

Glen worked at Atlantic Wholesalers until its closure when he transferred to Weston Bakeries until his retirement.  He made many lifetime friends while working.  He played gentleman's hockey for numerous years.

His real love was summers in Murray Corner and he never missed the prep and opening of Lobster Season with uncle Steward on the "Kimpada".  Poppy was his honored role to his amazing 6 grandkids and highlighted with their sports involvement including basketball with his Sackville girls and hockey with his Calgary family.  They were a major love in his life.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Brenda, Sackville; daughters Natasha MacKenzie (Shawn Macdonald), Sackville, Sarah (Richard) Healey, Calgary, AB; 6 cherished grandchildren Jaden, Hayley, Livia Gallant of Sackville and Mya, Charley and Timber Healey of Calgary; brother Allan (Katrin) MacKenzie, as well as his 2 children Caytlan (Freddy) and Regina (Mason), all of Calgary; sister Joan (Wayne) MacDougall and family, O'Leary, PEI; brother in law Douglas Murray, Sackville; sister in law Debbie (Len) Manderson and family; as well as numerous relatives and cousins on the Mackenzie/Gay sides and the Murray/Hicks sides.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB.  Cremation has taken place and a public graveside service will be held in the Sackville Cemetery on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 1:30 pm.  All are welcome to come and celebrate Glen's life with his family.  Brenda's door is open to all and she invites you to drop in for a cup of coffee and to share memories.

Glen's family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kelly and Emma, and our "Guardian Angels", the Tantramar Extra Mural for their endless compassion and care.

Memorial contributions in Glen’s memory may be made to the Drew Nursing Home or the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
