It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cynthia Elizabeth Adams, 84, of Westcock, NB. Cynthia passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the Moncton Hospital.

Born in Montreal, Cynthia was a daughter of  the late Rev Henry Herbert Athling and Emma Maude (nee Ashton) Gillingham and widow of the late Glenn Adams

She lived her life for education and teaching others. From starting teaching high school in Montreal, to her many years teaching English at ARHS, to teaching, then running, the Sunday school program at St. Paul’s Anglican and leading a women’s Bible study at Main St. Baptist, to helping establish and building up the Adult Education program in Sackville. She was a mentor to many and was always interested in her students’ successes.

Cynthia will be dearly missed by her son Mark (Emily) Adams, Ottawa, and grandchildren, Clara and Peter Adams, of Ottawa, as well as her many close friends and former students.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Glenn, and her brothers, Ashton and Herbert.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). An afternoon of remembrance for Cynthia will be held from the funeral home 2-4 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2023 with memories to be shared at 3 pm.
