With his family by his side, Freddy Charles Smith, 72, of Wood Point, NB, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Monday, February 13, 2023.  Freddy was born in Sackville, a son of the late Leslie and Violet (Tower) Smith.

Freddy had been a skilled carpenter all of his life and was always willing to give anyone a helping hand.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, spending time on his four wheeler, and playing washer toss in Anne's Acres.  He adored spending time with his family, listening to the Saturday Night Hoedown on the radio or having one of his signature karaoke parties.  

An inseparable couple who met in high school, Freddy married the love of his life, Donna (nee Lewis) in 1971 and they began their journey together raising a beautiful family of three daughters and a son.

Freddy will be dearly missed by his wife, Donna, Wood Point; three daughters, Teena (Dale Sherwood) Smith, Sackville, Angela (Darin 'Narn') Harvey, Aulac, and Amanda (John Terris) Smith, Amherst; a son, Jamie (Renee Landry) Smith, Amherst; eight grandchildren, Jerika (Dilan) Ibbitson, Calista (Matt) Ibbitson, Zach Ibbitson, Jocelyn Smith, Nicholas Smith, John Michael (Christie) Terris, Dakota (Emily) Smith, Mackenzie (Evan) Fisher, and Abigale Fisher; six great grandchildren; his siblings, Junior, Billy, Stevie, Carolyn (Dale) Patterson, Betty Ward, Elaine Morice, Gladys, Donnie Cormier, Myrtle Bryden, Ruby (Don) Beal, and Charlotte (Gary) LeBlanc; brother in law, Aubrey (Charlotte) Lewis; sisters in law, Diane (Hanford) Milner, Debbie (Robert) Lewis, Cathy (Mackey) Estabrooks, Olive Lewis, Flora (Jim) Watson, Charlene (Kevin) Wells, Loretta (Donnie) Weir, Nancy (Kevin Scott) Landry, as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family members and close friends.  In addition, Freddy is survived by his "adopted" daughters, Lisa and Natasha Taylor and very special friends, Diana and Luc Touchette and Jasmin Touchette.  

Besides his parents, Freddy was predeceased by his brother, Jeff Smith and two sisters, Rachael Johnson and Marion Daye as well as his sisters in law, Janice "Jane" Smith, Edna Phinney and Linda Lewis and his mother and father in law, Lorena and Edgar Lewis.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (506-364-1300), honouring Freddy's wishes, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 2-4 pm.
