It is with profound sadness that we announce the
peaceful passing of Barbara Linnie
MacKay, 89, of Sackville, NB, at the Moncton Hospital
on Monday, Feb 6, 2023.
Born in Sackville, Barb was a daughter of the late
Crandall and Linnie (Snowdon) Steadman.
Barb's life and love was always her music. She taught piano lessons in her
home, as well as having been the choir director and organist at Main
Street Baptist Church for over 50 years. She accompanied the Minstrels
and started the church hand bell choir. She was always willing to
share her love of music with everyone.
Barb was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother
and great grandmother. She looked forward to meeting
her new great great granddaughter who is to be born later this
February. She had
a special relationship with her family and looked forward to spending
time with them, in particular playing games.
Barb will be dearly missed by her son Gary
(Mary-Alice), Quispamsis, NB and her daughter, Barb (Curtis) Ward,
Sackville; her grandchildren, Heather (Graham) Hall, William, and
Graeme MacKay, Wendy (Eli) Proa, Cindy Ward, Amanda (Sheldon) Savoy,
and Shane Ward; six great grandchildren, Kaylie, Kyle, Keera, Katelyn,
Kameron and Jacob and a soon to be great great granddaughter, Mataya;
her sisters, Joyce Estabrooks and Nancy Peters, as well as several
nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Barb was predeceased by her
husband, Lorne William MacKay, in 1997; her brothers in law, Borden
Estabrooks and Walter Peters.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of
