It is with profound sadness that we are announcing the passing of our mother, Doris Elizabeth Spencer on December 24, 2022. Born in Port Elgin, NB and later residing in Riverview, NB, Doris passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital with her family by her side.

She was the youngest daughter of the late George and Annie (Leger) LeBlanc and was predeceased by her loving husband Albert T. Spencer (2013); her siblings Edward (Irene) LeBlanc, Adelard (Marie) LeBlanc, Isabel (Ronald) Larsen, Marjorie (Roy) Cormier; a brother-in-law, Ronald Allen, and a nephew Ronnie LeBlanc.

Doris was a loving, devoted mother and will be deeply missed by her 5 children, Gary (Linda) Spencer of Summerside PEI, Terry Lynn (John) Rodobolski of Cambridge ON, Charlotte (Gerald) Melanson of Riverview NB, Wallace (Norma) Spencer of Timber River, NB, and Kevin (Cathy) Spencer of Georgetown ON.

Doris was a warm and caring grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Michael Spencer, Craig (Emily) Spencer, Tricia (Kris) Gutierrez, Lori Rodobolski, Nancy (Scott) Strickler, Jennifer Melanson, Kristen Estabrooks, Tyler Spencer, Samantha Spencer, and Chase Spencer; great-grandmother to 11 great-grandchildren: Brendan, Cohen, Nolan, Madelyn, Michael, Matthew, Nash, Ivy, Nikolas, Kassidy, and Ava Lee; and a highly favoured aunt to many nieces and nephews, including her "special niece" Margaret McGlashing.  Doris is also survived by her older sisters, Rita Trenholm and Matilda Allen.

Doris’ family would like to express their appreciation to the many medical care staff members of the palliative care department at the Moncton City Hospital for their excellent care.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Homes, Port Elgin and Sackville, NB, (506-364-1300). At Doris’ request, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at St. Clements Catholic Church, Church Street, Port Elgin on January the 3rd, 2023 at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Port Elgin. Interment to take place in the parish cemetery in the spring.

Family flowers only please, and any donations made in the memory of Doris may be made to Alzheimer's Society of New Brunswick  or to a charity of your choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
