It is with great sadness that we announce the
passing of Boyne Daniel Murphy, age 70,
of Port Elgin, NB. Boyne passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday,
December 1, 2022.
Born in Alberton, PEI, he was a son of the late
Clarence and Ethel (Moran) Murphy.
Boyne was a transplanted islander, moving to Port
Elgin when he was 5 years old, but he never forgot his roots. He loved the outdoors, time in
the woods, hunting (sleeping in his crows nest) and fishing. He was a welder/pipe fitter for
CN/Marine Atlantic up until his retirement in 1997. Following his retirement he
began working for himself and was well known in the area as the
"man to call".
He will be dearly missed by his wife, Patsy, Port
Elgin; sons, Patrick (Emily Reade), Port Elgin, Duane (Angie White),
Oshawa, ON, Joshua (Kelsie), Port Elgin; grandchildren, Sierra,
Cadance, Gavin, Ava, Damien, Cassidy, Avery; siblings, Mollie (Roger)
Legere, Riverview, Mary Murphy, Port Elgin, Colleen (Lou) Costello,
Mississauga, ON, Michael (Jan), Mississauga, ON, Shaun (Shelley),
Melrose, NB
Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother,
Patrick, brother in law George Romano.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of
Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin and
Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). Visiting hours will take place
at their Port Elgin location, 3 West Main St on Wednesday, December 7,
2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at
the St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 8, 2022
at 11:30 am, Father Charles Broderick officiating. Burial will follow in the
parish cemetery.
Donations in memory of Boyne may be made to the St.
Clement's Parish Cemetery, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a
charity of the donor's choice.
