It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Jane Carmichael, 80, of Sackville on Thursday, November 3, 2022.  

Carolyn was born in Sackville, a daughter of the late Edgar and Joyce (Webster) Dixon.

Carolyn graduated from Sackville High School in 1959 and from Mount Allison University in 1963.  She performed her Diabetic Internship Program at the Vancouver General Hospital in 1964.  She worked for Beaver Foods in Ontario.  In 1985 she returned to school, becoming a Registered Nurse at Fanshawe Community College Nursing Program.  After returning to Sackville, she nursed at the Sackville Memorial Hospital and the Westford Nursing Home. She was an active member of St. Paul's Anglican Church.  She received several acknowledgments for her generous volunteering, including the Provincial Nursing Home Award.  She was very active with the Westford Nursing Home, sitting on it's board of trustees and volunteering after her retirement.  She was a loving and caring friend to many.

Carolyn is survived by 3 step-sons, Michael Carmichael, Gregory Carmichael and Shane Carmichael; 2 step-daughters, Annamarie (Joseph) Araujo, and Shawnalee (Daniel) Robinson; step-son-in-law Ralph Singer; several grand and great grandchildren; sisters, Louise (Gaius) Miller and Ann (Richard) Hicks; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her step-daughter Michelle Carmichael her brother Alan and husband Welbern.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  A private graveside service will be held in the Sackville Cemetery, Father Craig O'Brien officiating.
