It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Joan Irene Dunbar, age 82, of
Midgic. Joan passed away at home with her loving family by
her side, on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Born in Kirkland Lake, ON, she was a
daughter of the late Reg and Ina (Phinney) Acton.
Joan was very active showing cattle over
the years. She loved to garden, working on her shrubs and
flowers. She was a very proud woman, who was strong in her
convictions. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother,
and farmer. Prior to retirement, she worked as a Resident
Attendant at the Drew Nursing Home.
She will be dearly missed by her husband
Garth, Midgic; children Wendy (Lawrence) Hicks, Sackville, Philip
(Donna) Tingley, Milton, ON, Shawn Dunbar (Kelly Robinson), Thorold,
ON, Stephen Dunbar (Jennifer Lucas), Fort McMurray, AB; 11
grandchildren, Trudy, Miranda, Justin, Nicole, Philip Jr., Jennifer,
Skye, Dylan, Caleb, Cole, and Spencer and 12 great grandchildren
Jordan, Alyssa, Hailey, Maddison, Kyle, Autumn, Sadie, Myles, Ayla,
Ellie, Sloan, and Walker; brothers Robert (Laura) Acton, Cookville,
and David (Anna) Acton, Cookville; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister in law
Alma Acton.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of the Jones Funeral Home, 70
Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300), where visiting hours will
take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Joan's
funeral service will be held from Jones Funeral Home on Sunday,
October 23, 2022 at 2 pm. Burial will follow in the Midgic
Cemetery.
Joan's family would like to extend
special thanks to her caregiver Nicole Lavigne, as well as Dr. Kanji
and the Extra Mural staff.
