It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Edith Rachel Knockwood, age 82, of Fort Folly.  Edith passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital with family by her side.

Born in Five Islands, NS, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Francis (Eagles) Pugsley.

After marrying her husband George in Bass River, NS, they moved to Connecticut in 1963 to work and raise their family.  She was always in for a good game of Bingo, and drives along the cape.  She loved her clams from Granny's in Five Islands.  She enjoyed relaxing at home, while having a good French Vanilla from Tim's, playing her scratch tickets, while watching the Blue Jays, or a good episode of NCIS on TV.  She loved her grand-kids and it showed in the many knitted mittens, blankets, and tree ornaments she gave them.  She enjoyed traveling to the States to see family, time in the garden, feeding the squirrels and telling stories.  She was very proud to have her own personal hairdresser, her granddaughter, and her Perm In A Box.

She will be dearly missed by sons John (Mary), New Britain, Conn, Michael (Brenda), Fort Folly; daughters Theresa (Paul) Lowe, Springhill, NS and Chief Rebecca Knockwood, Fort Folly; 15 grandchildren, Savannah, Victor, Jolyne, Nicole, Lacey, Justin, Gerald, Ashley, David, Michelle, Sarabeth, Tiffany, Brittany, Michaela and Brianna; 19 great grandchildren, Trystan, Theresa Dawn, Baydon, Zachery, Aiden, Colton, Myra, Declan, Gage, Rachel Grace, Hannah, Jackson, Thea, Graydon, Charlotte, Elizabeth, Jorgia-Anne, Lara, and Beau; sisters Joyce Comeau, Amherst, Ferne  (Ricky) Gould, Amherst, Marion MacIsaac, Moncton, Robin Pugsley, Parrsboro; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband George; grandson Myles, brothers Delbert, Lewis, and Sidney.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Friday, August 26, 2022 from Noon until 2 pm, followed immediately at 2 pm by her funeral service, Pastor Vernon Vickruck officiating.  Immediately following the funeral service, all are invited to the Fort Folly Band Office for a Reception and to continue to share memories.  Cremation will follow the service, and she will be interred in the Beaumont Cemetery at a later date.

Edith's family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to her Home Care Workers, Shelly, Amy, Cindy, Kali, and Jessica.

Donations in memory of Edith may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
