It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Marilyn E. Phinney, age 81, of Fredericton and formerly of Midgic, NB.  Marilyn passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.

Born in Millstream, NB, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (Kelly) Mason. 

Marilyn loved to watch her favorite television series of Criminal minds, Law and Order SUV and Mrs. Brown’s Boys.  She enjoyed gardening, knitting and spent hours doing WordFind.  She looked forward to her shopping outings with her granddaughters Emélie and Rachèle and going to Charley Pride concerts with her son James. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Ernie and a loving mother to her three sons.

Marilyn will be sadly missed by her sons, James (Lynda), Fredericton, John (Anne), Ajax, ON and Jeffrey NL; eight grandchildren, Emélie, Rachèle, Brandon, Kyle, Natasha, Nathaneal, Evan and Abigeal; four great grandchildren, Kara, Kristina, Addison, and Aubrey; she is also survived by her sisters, Louise (Doug) Cosman, Connie Hayes, and Anne Smit, as well as her brothers, Fred (Shirley) and John (Dorena) Mason; a sister-in-law, Carol, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest in 2007, and a brother Bert.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home,70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).   A visitation for Marilyn will be held at the Midgic Baptist Church on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm, with interment to follow in the Midgic Cemetery.  Rev. Donald Oldford Presiding.  A time of fellowship and light refreshments will be provided following the burial.

Donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to Canadian Lung Association and the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
