It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aubrey Mariner Allen Sr., 89, on Thursday May 12, 2022 at the Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin.  Aubrey was born in Bayside, NB, a son of the late Mariner and Hattie (Polley) Allen.

Aubrey had worked at many jobs throughout his life, including fisherman, carpenter and woodsman, but he was never defined by any of them.  He was most passionate for woodworking in his shop as well as taking long walks.  He was a very happy and caring man who loved spending time with his grandchildren.  In his younger years he enjoyed fishing with his son on weekends and later in life loved his daughter bringing him treats (gumdrop cake) and spending time together.

Buba had many wonderful summers with "Poochie", trips on the moped, fishing, afternoons in the workshop, and waiting for Granny to come home from work.

Aubrey will be dearly missed by his wife of 64 years, Lola (Pauley) Allen, Port Elgin; his daughter, Kathleen (Buddy) Trenholm, Riverview; grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa) Trenholm, Fredericton and Nesha Trenholm, Thompson, MB; his great grandchildren, Zach, Aaliyah, as well as his sister, Dolly Trenholm, Moncton; his brother, Oakley (Lorna) Allen, Moncton, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Aubrey was predeceased by his son, Aubrey M. Allen Jr.; his brothers, Ernest, Wilson, Kencil, and Alvin; sisters Kathleen, Cora, Stella, and Jennie; his grandson Douglas Allen, as well as four siblings in infancy.

We would like to thank all the people who cared and helped with Dad in his last years.  He will be sadly missed.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Homes, Sackville and Port Elgin, NB (506-364-1300).  A private gravesisde service will take place at a later date.

Donations in memory of Aubrey may be made to the Fernwood Cemetery.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the online memorial aat www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home Facebook Page.
