It is with sadness that we announce the
passing of Kathleen Dianne Bernard, 80,
of Sackville, at the Drew Nursing Home on Saturday, April 30,
2022. Born in Liverpool, NS, Dianne was a daughter of the
late Graham and Dorcas (Davis) Pentz.
Dianne graduated from the Teacher's
College in Truro, NS and the Elementary Education Block Program in
Halifax. She taught Kindergarten and Grade One in Nova
Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, England, and New Brunswick, moving
to Sackville in 1969 where she was a Kindergarten teacher for many
years.
Dianne loved young children and was
extremely social with everyone, young and old. She was a
member of a local ladies group that met periodically and had many
wonderful friends. Dianne enjoyed her family vacations on
the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
She will be dearly missed by her husband
Cy V. Bernard, Sackville; sons Jeremy (Jessica), Ottawa, Jonathan
(Cindy), Sante Fe, New Mexico; granddaughters Robin, and
step-granddaughters, Keyla, and Jenny; sisters Donna (David) Baker,
Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina and Ginni (David) Schultz, Avonport,
NS, as well as many other extended family members, nieces, nephews and
close friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her sister Judy.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A time of public
visitation will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, May 5,
2022 from 6-8 pm. Masks are recommended.
Donations in memory of Dianne may be
made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
