We are deeply saddened by the passing of our mother Elizabeth "Betty" Anne Adams on April 27, 2022, at the age of 80. Mom passed away peacefully with family by her side. She was the daughter of Late Ann O'Neal (Bainbridge) and Walter Adams, both from Sackville. She had been blessed with a wonderful step father Norman O'Neal.
Mom was born in Sackville, NB. She traveled and lived in other areas of Canada, but moved back home to Sackville and then finally ended up residing in Moncton, NB, where she has lived up until her arrival at the Westford Nursing Home in December of last year.
Mom leaves behind a brother Bill (Nancy); a son Danny Cole (Sandi) and a daughter Debbie Reid (Rick). She also leaves her grandchildren, Matthew (Jill) and their daughter Alice, Amy Allen (Curtis) and their children Olivia and Mason, Bradley (Christine) and their son Gabriel, Christopher (Breanna) and their daughter Lily plus one more on the way; her special friend, Henry, which whom she shared so many wonderful memories, as well many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, mom was predeceased by her step-father, Norman; her husband Doug Phinney, and a brother Robert.
Mom wanted us to tell everyone that she lived a full life and she had so many laughs along the way. She joined the Air Force when she was young, worked at the Enterprise Foundry, Mount Allison University, in Sackville, NB, sold real estate in Moncton and had many other jobs throughout her life.
Mom was passionate about gardening and was an avid reader, always having a book close at hand. She also loved crossword puzzles, her bowling league and old country music.
We would like to thank the following, The Neuro Unit at the Moncton City Hospital, Dr. Robert Adams, Dr. Ironside and the nurses who cared for her, Physio and Occupational Health. Also, we want to thank the staff at the Westford Nursing Home for their wonderful care.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). As mom wished, there will be no funeral or visitation. A graveside service for the family will be held at the Four Corners Burial Grounds in Middle Sackville, NB, on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 4 pm.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Westford Nursing Home or a charity of your choice.
