It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Melita Lawrence, born in Sackville NB on Nov.10, 1923 . She died at the Drew Nursing Home on September 28, 2021 due to COVID at the age of 97.

She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Hughena (Hargreaves)Tracy. She will be dearly missed by her loving children David (Brenda) Lawrence of New Haven PEI, Joanne (Keith) Carter of Sackville NB, grand children and great grandchildren, as well as her sister Ruth(Don) McPhail along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert(Bob) Lawrence, sons Robert and Micheal and her brother Raland William Tracy.

Helen was the owner/operator of her own hairdressing business for 55 years. She attended Mt. Allison University and then studied hairdressing in Montreal. In her younger years she was very active in many sports, especially bowling, curling, tennis and golf. In her later years she loved playing cards, knitting and cooking. She was a member of the Amherst Bridge club and proudly became a life master of the ACBL.

She was a dedicated and loving mother. One of her greatest joys was spending summers at the cottage in Murray Corner with all her family and friends. And she never turned down a game of crib with anyone.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  Honouring Helen's wishes cremation has taken place.  A service for Helen will take place at a later date. 

Donations in memory of Helen may be sent to a charity of the donor's choice.
