It is with sadness we announce the
passing of Lynwood Earl Johnston, age 89,
of Johnston Point, NB. Lynwood passed away peacefully
surrounded by loving family on Friday, July 16, 2021 at his
home.
Born in Johnston Point, NB, he was a son
of the late Basil and Alcora (Tingley) Johnston.
Lynwood worked at CN for over 35
years. He loved Johnston Point. He loved fishing;
smelts, clams, oysters, quahogs, and lobster. Moving to
Johnston Point over 40 years ago, he became known as the Mayor of
Johnston Point.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of
64 years, Goldie of Johnston Point; daughters Linda (Scott) Murray,
Moncton, NB; Lee (John) Wilson, Pictou County, NS; 4 grandsons Tyler
(Mallory Herc) and Aaron Murray and Jeremy (Lauren Santiago) and
Joshua (Amanda MacIsaac) Wilson; 3 great grandchildren, Layla Murray,
Caelum Murray and Selena MacIsaac; his special fur-baby Sara; several
nieces and nephews.
The last surviving member of his
immediate family, he was predeceased by brother Robert "Bob"
and sister Shirley Savage.
Arrangements have been entrusted into
the care of the Jones Funeral Home,
Sackville and Port Elgin, NB (506-364-1300). In keeping with
Lynwood's wishes, a family graveside service will be held at a later
date in the Fernwood Cemetery, Port Elgin, NB.
Those wishing to make a donation in
Lynwood's memory may do so the Canadian Cancer Society.
Lynwood's family wishes to extend
heartfelt thanks to the Extra Mural Nurses, the VON, Dr. Stephen
Kenney, good friend Judy and the many friends and neighbours who
offered support.
