It is with sadness that we announce the
death of Shirley Merine Purdy, 93, of
Sackville on Monday, April 26, 2021.
Born in Sackville, Shirley was a daughter of the late
George and Annie Mae (Sterling) Thompson.
Shirely was employed for many years at
Mt. Allison University. She enjoyed spending time in her flower
gardens and shopping; sometimes to buy, and sometimes just to
look.
Shirley will be sadly missed by her
sons, David (Nancy) Purdy and Douglas (Paulette) Purdy both of
Sackville, NB, and four grandchildren Michelle (Brian Maxwell) Purdy,
David (Rita) Purdy,
Christopher (Kelly) Purdy and Amanda (Ryan Estabrooks)
Purdy, as well as eight great grandchildren, Lily and Simon Maxwell,
Katelyn and Cassie Purdy, Jake and Alex Purdy, Hudson and Barrett
Estabrooks.
Besides her parents and her husband,
Arthur Purdy, Shirley was predeceased by six sisters, Margaret,
Isabel, Viola, Helen, Bernice and May.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). Cremation has taken place and a
graveside service for Shirley will be held in the Sackville Cemetery
on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11 am. Please bring your masks
and respect social distancing guidelines.

of the donor's choice.
