It is with sadness we announce the
passing of John "Jack" Edward
Chalk, age 94, of Sackville, NB. John passed
away at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 20,
2021.
Born in Victoria, BC, he was a son of
the late Albert and Esther (Brown) Chalk.
Jack served in the Royal Canadian Navy,
then worked civil service for the Federal Government in many
capacities, including the Dorchester Penitentiary. He was
involved locally in curling and golf. His passion was
playing golf and he loved to share the story of his "Hole in
One" on the 7th hole in the Sackville Golf Course.
Always committed to the military, he was a member of the Sackville
Royal Canadian Legion.
He will be dearly missed by his dear
friend and companion Faye Johnson, Sackville; son Kevin (Patricia),
Moncton; son-in-law Andy LeBlanc, Westcock, NB; 4 grandchildren,
Terri, Erin, Emily and Marc; great grandchildren Zachary, Kieran and
Piper; brother Raymond (Pat), Ottawa, ON, several nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by wife Evelyn (Gray)
Chalk, his daughter Cathy LeBlanc and sister Hilda
Maysmith.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St.,
Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A funeral service to remember
and celebrate Jack's life will be held at the Jones Funeral Home on
Friday, April 23, 2021 at 2 pm, followed by the burial of he and his
wife Evelyn's ashes in the Sackville Cemetery.
Preregistration is required, please call or e-mail the funeral home to
do so. Masks are required and all are asked to adhere to
Covid-19 regulations.
