It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Ruby Barclay, age 94, of Sackville, NB.  Bernice passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Centre Village, NB, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude (Babcock) Estabrooks.

Bernice was a member of the Point de Bute Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 17 years and was a choir member until its closure.  She was a member of the Point de Bute Women's Institute, the Middle Sackville WMS, the Baie Verte Senior Citizens and she attended the Midgic Baptist Church.  She was employed with the Maritime Conference Christian Education Office until 1969 and retired after working at Mount Allison in the Ralph Pickard Bell Library for 22 years.

She is survived by son Gordon (Barb St. Peter), Cambridge, ON; granddaughter Sandra (Marc) Ward, Kingston, ON; grandson Creighton Barclay (Tom Stronge), Amherst; great granddaughter Jayme Ward (Erica Kormm), Calgary, AB and and Kieran Ward, Antigonish, NS; sister, Jean Chase, Amherst, NS; foster daughters in Australia Margaret Murdock and Bet Stathis and a favorite great niece, Heather Prescott, Sackville, NB and of course her cat "Little Bit".

She was predeceased by her husband Sandy Barclay; daughter-in-law Ruth Barclay; three brothers Ray, Frank and Nelson; two sisters Annie (Norman) Estabrooks and Margaret (William) Patterson and son in law Douglas Chase.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300).  Due to COVID Restrictions, a funeral will be held in the Spring, followed by committal in the Point de Bute Cemetery.

Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to the Midgic Baptist Church, or a charity of the donor's choice.
