It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie Vermena Dean, 90, of Sackville, and formerly of Malden, NB, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Saturday, January 23, 2021.  Born in Timber River, Elsie was a daughter of the late Harold and Mildred (Croft) Allen.

Elsie was very passionate about her flower garden. She was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother who never missed any of her grandchildren's hockey games.

Elsie will be sadly missed by her son, Myles (Rocksey), Bayfield; a daughter Mary Ann Dean (Brian Trenholm), Sackville; a brother, Garfield (Audrey) Allen; 3 sisters, Carol Perry, Evelyn Allen and Ruth Bourgeois; three grandchildren, Michael (Christine) Dean, Sharla (Dwight) Stright, and Ann Marie (Doug) Dean; three great grandchildren, Alex, Cole, and Carter, as well as one step granddaughter, Sydney-Ann and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her special friends, Wanetta & Donnie Spence and Barb Houlahan.

Besides her parents, Elsie was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1968, her sons Douglas and Walter; her sisters, Sheila Alder and Mildred Allen and three brothers, Russell, Donald and Lloyd.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her neighbour, Eva Walton who watched over Elsie and was always there when she needed assistance during her time at the Drew cottage.

Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Homes, Sackville & Port Elgin, NB (506-364-1300).  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitations or services at this time.  A public graveside service will be held at the Bayfield Cemetery on Monday, June 7, 2021 at 2 pm.
