It is with great sadness that we
announce the passing of Mary Matilda
Fillmore, 87, of Sackville, at the Westford Nursing
Home, on Friday, August 7, 2020. Born in Centre Village, NB,
Mary was a daughter of the late Ralph and Selena (Sears)
Estabrooks.
Mary worked in various retail stores and
taught ceramics as well as other crafts. In her spare time
she would knit comfort dolls for the IWK. Mary and her
husband, Lincoln, had once owned a hobby farm and took great pride in
showing Shorthorn cattle for many years. She was a certified
teacher for RHGNS and a lifetime member of the Women's Institute, as
well as the Sackville Quilter's Guild.
She will be dearly missed by her
daughter, Carol (Chuck) Smith, Sackville; a granddaughter, Cari-Ann
(Cal Lewis) Melanson, Sackville; her sister, Ida Belle (Lorne) Wells;
her brother, Lee (Ruth) Estabrooks; as well as several
sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and extended
family.
Besides her parents, Mary was
predeceased by her husband, Lincoln Fillmore in 2008, as well as her
brothers, Roland, Malcolm, Frederick, and
Clinton.
The family wishes to extend their
heartfelt gratitude to Dr. G. Stewart and the staff of the Westford
Nursing Home for their compassion and care for Mary during this
time.
