It is with profound sadness that we
announce the passing of Emile Joseph
Richard on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Drew Nursing
Home in Sackville, New Brunswick. Emile's passing was just
nine days shy of his 100th birthday. Emile was born in Cap-Pele, NB,
he was a son of the late Maximilien Dosithe Joseph and Zoe Marie
(Arsenault) Richard.
In his earlier years, Emile worked in
Amherst, Nova Scotia at the aircraft plant. Emile was also formerly
employed at the Enterprise Foundry and Tantramar Regional High School
until his retirement. Emile was a hard worker and avid
gardener who enjoyed being outdoors.
He is survived by his two daughters Nora
(Bryon) Parrish of Hutchinson, Kansas and Edna (David) Marks of
Midgic, four sons, Reginald (Kathy) of Moncton, Michael (Tasha) of
Sackville, Gerard (Cheryl) of Sackville and Ronald (Susan)
of Regina, SK. 16 grandchildren, six great
grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Emile was the last surviving member of
his immediate family. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by his wife Doris (Melanson) in 2008, daughters, Mona and
Rita, Brothers Tilmon, Frederick, Charles, Adelard, Rene and Joe and
by sisters Alice,, Edna, Hazel and
Alvina.
Arrangements are under the care and
supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70
Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). A graveside
service will be held from the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Sackville, on
Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 3 pm. Please bring a mask and
respect all social distancing measures.
