It is with great sadness that the family of
Gertrude 'Audrey' Cormier, 83, of Dieppe,
announce the death of their beloved mother at the Saint John Regional
Hospital on April 24, 2015. Audrey was born on February 3,
1932 in Sackville, NB, a daughter of the late Harry & Ida
Tingley.
Audrey had a wonderful spirit and was
full of life and laughter. She devoted her life to her
loving husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a
strong, confident person on the outside, but a gentle, giving spirit
on the inside.
Audrey will be sorely missed by
her family and everyone who knew her. She is survived by her
husband of 63 years, Adelard, Dieppe; two daughters, Darlene (Michael
Galbraith) Jackson, Moncton and Stacey (Larry) Jones, Dieppe; two
sons, David, of Dieppe and Laurie (Kelly) of Riverview; foster child,
Peggy Walton; four grandchildren, Trevor (Gillian) Jackson, Michelle
(Froukje) Jackson, Chantelle Cormier, Melissa Jones; three great
grandchildren, Gracie, Cooper and Saskia; three step-grandchildren,
Jason, Bertha, and Crystal and six step-great-granchildren, Cameron,
Mollie, Bailey, Selena, Isaiah and Rowan.
She
is also survived by her sisters, Edith Fairweather, Quispamsis, Martha
(George) Schultz, Calgary, Merilyn Myra, Sussex; a brother, Harry
(Evelyn) Tingley Jr., Creston, BC; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Cormier
and Jeannine Melanson; special nieces and nephew, Kathy, Jefferey, and
Nancy, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, Harry and Ida
Tingley; her brother, Arthur (late Margaret); a sister Ruth (Late
Phil) Chisholm; a niece, Joanne Chisholm; brother-in-law, Ronald
Fairweather; step-brothers, Donald (Late Mickey) Tingley and Herman
(Late Mary) Tingley.
Arrangements are under the
care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street,
Sackville (364-1300). There is to be no visitation by
request. A funeral service will be held from the funeral
home on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 2 pm with The Rev. Aaron Billard
officiating. Interment to take place at a later date in the
Sackville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of one's
choice would be appreciated.
