Mr. James Henry Maxwell of
Amherst Nova Scotia passed away on Sunday, April 12 2015 in Saint John
in comfort and at peace. Jim was born in Sackville, New
Brunswick on March 11, 1926 to Murray and Ina Maxwell with brother Don
and sisters Irene, Barb and Jean.
Jim was
married to Eileen Pearl Spence and enjoyed a long and happy life
together with Eileen passing in February of this year. He is survived
by his daughter Debbie living in New Jersey, his son Jim living in
Dubai, his son Jeff living in Mexico and his son Jay living in Saint
John and was predeceased by his son Jon, of Saint John.
After a short period in the army, Jim took a position
with Atlantic Wholesalers finishing his career as Manager of the
Amherst, Nova Scotia Branch. Through-out his life, Jim was active with
his family enjoying each summer at the cottage at Amherst Shore
fishing mackerel and lobster and teaching his children golf and card
games. He was an avid golfer and bridge player playing with friends,
family and in tournaments.
In lieu of flowers,
donations to the Alzheimer society or research of
colon cancer would be appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). There will be no
visitation or funeral at this time. A graveside service will
take place in the Sackville Cemetery on May 19th at 11:00AM.
The family will have a celebration of life for both Jim and Eileen in
early July for family and friends.
