It is with deep sadness that the family must announce the
peaceful passing of Thelma J. Trenholm, age 85, of Murray
Corner. Thelma passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the
Sackville Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Murray Corner, NB, she was a daughter of the
late Thomas and Hester (Stright) Briggs.
Thelma
was a member of the Silver Pioneers, the Women's Institute, the Murray
Corner United Church Women. She enjoyed spending time with
friends and family and bowled with the Seniors for many
years. She was an avid card player and loved a game with
anyone that would join her.
She will be sadly
missed by two sisters Vera Spence, Murray Corner, and Frances
(Francis) Boyd, Murray Corner; sister-in-law Gwenyth Briggs, Murray
Corner; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Clarence, Basil
and sister Zora Simpson.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Jones Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held
at the Jones Funeral Centre, 3 West Main St., Port Elgin, NB
(506-538-2241) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The
funeral service will be held at the Jones Funeral Centre, Port Elgin
on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2 pm, William Drysdale, DLM
officiating. Burial will take place in the Trenholm Cemetery
at a later date.
The Family would like to thank
Sackville Special Care Home for their dedication and care to Thelma
over the last year, as well as the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Dr
Alison Dysart and Dr. Natalie Sheehan for their support.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Thelma
may do so to the Trenholm Cemetery or the Bayfield-Cape Tormentine
Fire Department.
