It is with deep sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing of Bernadette M. Patterson, age 90, of Jolicure.  Bernadette passed away quietly at her home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Born in Port Elgin, NB, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Beatrice (Forest) Legere.

She was an active member of  St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, but most importantly, a dedicated wife and loving mother and grand and great grandmother.  Bernadette was an avid gardener and loved spending time outdoors around her home.

She will be sadly missed by daughters, Valerie (Ross) Cole, Point de Bute, Catherine (Derrick) Crandall, Jolicure and Vicki Trites, Jolicure; 7 grandchildren; Kimberley, Lisa, Wanda, Patricia, Michael, Angela and Matthew; 6 great grandchildren, Cole and Nicholas, Conrad, Joey Lynn, Ben and Skyelar; 1 brother;  Michael (Anne);  2 sisters Jean Gower and Joan Nowacki, both of Hamilton, ON; several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Layton Patterson; sisters Genevieve and Gloria; brother Edgar and infant sister.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at Jones's in Port Elgin, 3 West Main St. (506-538-2241) on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 10 am until 10:45 am.   Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following from St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin, at 11 am, Father Allison Carroll officiating.  Burial will take place in St. Clement's Parish Cemetery in the spring.

Those wishing to make a donation in Bernadette's memory may do so to St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church or the charity of your choice.

Special thanks to Dr. Milne and Extra Mural, especially Chantal, MacKenzie and Beth.  To the caregivers that Bern called her girls, Shelly, Kathy, Carol and Janet, words cannot express the gratitude we feel for you ladies as you came to love mom as much as we do.
