Due to the impending winter storm, Maizie Steeves's funeral will be moved to Saturday, February 14, 2014 at 4 pm, immediately following the visitation from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral will now take place at Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville. Please share this information with anyone who may need to know. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Maizie Celesta Steeves, age 98, of Sackville.  Maizie passed away at the Drew Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

Born in Midgic, NB, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Annie Hicks.

Maizie was a member of Main St. Baptist Church, a member of Sackville Senior Citizen's Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the Legion and the Seniors Bowling Club.
 
Maizie leaves to mourn 2 sons, Arthur (Mary) Chase, Sackville, and Leaman (Wilma) Chase, Penticton, BC, a daughter, Jacqueline (Joe) Penney, Gander, NL, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son Austin in infancy, her husband Herman Steeves, grandson Billy Kent and son-in-law Karl Kent.  The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was predeceased by her sisters Rhoda, Beulah, Reate and Freda; brothers, Eldon, Basil, and Freaman.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will take place on Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 2 to 4 pm.  The funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 4 pm from the Jones Funeral Home, Pastor Andrew Swanson officiating.  Burial will take place in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring.

Those wishing to make a donation in  Maizie's name may do so to the Main Street Baptist Church or the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
