Estella Folkins, formerly of Dorchester, NB, passed away
peacefully at the Drew Nursing Home in Sackville, NB on February 6,
2015.
She was born in 1921 at Snider Mountain,
NB to Edgar and Mae (Long) Carson.
After
graduating from school, she attended the Provincial Normal School in
Fredericton, NB graduating in 1940. She taught in various
communities in Kings County, NB until her marriage to Ronald Folkins
on September 6, 1944. She became a homemaker and was post
mistress in the community of Berwick, NB in the early 1950's.
She was a loving mother to Ritchie (Alice) of Cherry
Burton, Marion Wry of Moncton, Elsie (Mike) Hicks of Moncton, Warren
(Wendy) of Dorchester, and Lloyd (Donna) of Riverview; a
loving nanny to thirteen grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by brother
Gerald of Sussex; as well as many nieces, nephews.
The farm in Dorchester was a favorite place for the family to
visit and holds many happy memories.
She was
predeceased by her husband Ronald, three sisters and two
brothers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506)
364-1300. There will be no visitation by request.
Internment will be held in Berwick, NB in the spring.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Drew
Nursing Home for the loving care of their Mom and Nanny.
