It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Erna Ida
Cadman Balser, age 95, of Sackville. Erna passed away
peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her
loving family on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.
Born in Baie Verte, NB, she was a daughter of the late Earl and
Annie (Turner) Patterson.
Erna kept boarders
for many years after her first husband passed away. She then
educated herself at Oulton's Business College and worked for years at
Atlantic Wholesalers and retired from Fawcett Foundry. A
loving lady, she took great care of her two daughters and enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. She loved to crochet, and many family and
friends were lucky to receive some of her afghans and crafts.
She will be sadly missed by her 2 daughters; Louise
(Frank) Fearon, Sackville and Patsy (Richard Pond) Rose of
Shubenacadie; 3 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; 9
great great grandchildren; 3 brothers; Garnet, Coburg, William (Kay),
Point de Bute, and Ricky, British Columbia.
She
was predeceased by her first husband Norval Cadman, her second husband
Walter Balser,grandson Gordy Fearon; brothers Victor, James, Donald,
and Layton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where
visiting hours will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 1 pm
until the time of the funeral at 2 pm. The funeral will take
place immediately following at 2 pm. Burial will take place
in the Sackville Cemetery in the spring. Further time to
share memories and a cup of tea will follow in the Jones Funeral Home
reception room.
