It is with sadness that we must announce the peaceful passing
of Audrey Doreen McWhirter, 86, of
Sackville, formerly of Dorchester, at her home in Sackville on
Saturday, January 3, 2015.
Born in Dorchester
Cape, NB, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Helen (Buck)
Mitton.
Audrey was formerly employed with
Bishop and Dobson in Dorchester as a clerk. A loving wife,
mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Audrey dedicated her life
to her family, her home and her community. She was Past
Matron of the Eastern Star, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary,
Dorchester and Dorchester Volunteer Association and a member of the
Dorchester Baptist Church.
She will be sadly
missed by her 3 daughters, Sylvia LeFurgey, Calgary, AB, Wanda (Gary)
Blue, Moncton, Cheryl (Marc) Belliveau, Sackville; son David, Calgary,
AB; 7 grandchildren, Stacey (Trevor) Mooney and Shannon (Sheldon)
Sephton, both of Calgary, AB; Brent (Munjung) Osmond, Moncton, NB,
Melissa (Ryan) Smith, Ottawa, ON, Katie (Scott) and Aaron
McWhirter, Lance (Leta) McWhirter, all of Calgary, AB; 6
great grandchildren MacKena and Kennedy Mooney, Emma and Ryleigh
Sephton, all of Calgary, AB; Oren and Adler Smith, Ottawa, ON;
brother, Lloyd (Joyce) Mitton, Sackville; sisters Pearl Crossman,
Riverview, NB, Emma Bulmer, Dorchester, NB and Alice
Siddall, Sackville, NB.
She was predeceased by
her loving husband Harvie in 2009.
Audrey's
arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home,
70 Bridge St, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where family
and friends will gather to visit and share memories on Wednesday from
2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service honoring Audrey's
life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at 2 pm at the Jones
Funeral Home, Sackville, Rev. Philip Ferris officiating.
Burial will take place in the Dorchester Cemetery in the
spring. A reception will follow in the Jones Funeral Home
reception room where everyone is invited to share a cup of tea, a
light lunch and stories with the McWhirter family.
